A few useful answers

Before we get started.

What’s the difference between Website Only and Website + Care?

With Website Only, I build the website and hand it over. You arrange somewhere for it to stay online and someone to maintain it. With Website + Care, I also launch it, keep it online, manage the domain, monitor it, and help with minor updates.

What does the $50/month Managed Care plan include?

Hosting (somewhere for your website to stay online), an SSL security certificate (the secure connection visitors see in their browser), backups, monitoring, routine maintenance, and direct support. It also includes up to 30 minutes of minor content changes each month and one standard domain up to approximately $25 CAD/year while care is active. Unused update time does not roll over. Larger redesigns, new pages, and integrations are quoted separately.

Do I need to understand hosting or domains?

No. With Website + Care or Pay Monthly, I handle the technical side. A domain is your website’s address; hosting is what keeps its pages online. Website Only is best if you already have hosting, an IT provider, or someone who manages your website.

What happens if I cancel Managed Care?

Care can be cancelled after any applicable agreed minimum term. You keep the website you own and can arrange another host. I provide the files and reasonable migration or handover information. Your domain stays in your name, and you take over renewal costs when care ends. For Pay Monthly, the fixed twelve-payment commitment still applies; your written agreement defines early cancellation and unpaid build-cost terms.

Who owns the website?

With Website Only, you own the completed website once the agreed build invoice is paid. With Website + Care, you own it from launch once applicable build invoices are settled. With Pay Monthly, ownership transfers after the twelfth payment. Domains are always registered in your or your business’s name from the beginning.

Why is Pay Monthly slightly more expensive?

It lets you spread the website cost across twelve monthly payments while Managed Care is included. The first $125 payment is due when work begins. Twelve payments total $1,500. After your twelfth payment, the website is yours. Continue Managed Care for $50/month, or take your website elsewhere.

Do you offer nonprofit pricing?

Yes. Eligible nonprofit organizations can receive 50% off the website-build portion of a project. Hosting, Managed Care, domains, third-party services, and separately quoted integrations remain at their regular price. Eligibility is confirmed before the project begins. Managed Care stays $50/month. Monthly payment arrangements are calculated in the final quote.

Have a referral code?

If another client or partner referred you, include their referral code when you send your project brief. Any applicable referral credit will be confirmed in your quote. How referrals work ↗

Do I need all my content ready?

No. Bring whatever you have: a logo, a few photos, or a list of services. We’ll work out what the website needs and agree on any content work in the scope.

Are these concepts real client projects?

No. Cedar & Stone, Northline Auto Works, and Solace Coffee House are fictional businesses. Their websites show different design approaches; their sample reviews and project stories are illustrative.
